 Legislator

     From 1982 through 1988 served as a Republican in the Colorado House of Representatives and elected to the Colorado State Senate in 1988. Completed legislative career December 31, 2001 pursuant to term limits. Chaired two Senate committees, Served on eight legislative committees, Chairman of Local Government Committee and State, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee. Legislation dealt with early education through college, transportation, energy and mining, local government affairs, National Guard, state finance, constitution and elections, large and small business and labor affairs, and the environment.

Parliamentarian

     Professional Registered Parliamentarian, since 1979. Member of the National Association of Parliamentarians. President of the Colorado Springs unit of the National Association. Member of the Board of Directors of Colorado Association of Parliamentarians.

     Specialized consultant to presiding officers on parliamentary law and procedures, using Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised. Extensive work with bylaws, special orders, agendas and scripts for deliberative assemblies of all types, including political party organizations. Works as a convention and meeting parliamentarian, a presider, and a teacher of Robert's Rules of Order.

 

Mediator

     Trained mediator, completing studies at the University of Denver, University College, 2000. A Guidelines Member of Colorado Council of Mediator Organizations, specializing in civic disputes. Sole proprietor of Colorado Mediation, LLC, practicing mediation, facilitation, negotiation and arbitration. Large number of hours in multiple party disputes.

 

Citizens' Solutions, Inc

     President and founder of Citizens' Solutions, Inc., a 501(c)(3) educational corporation. It is a vehicle for relaying, through the media and public appearances, complete and unbiased information to the general public regarding myriad ballot initiatives.

      MaryAnne brings seasoned judgment to the responsibility of governing the people, based upon experience, observations and leadership. She is familiar with tough issues and hard work, handling all with grace and an unfailing sense of humor.

    She will bring unique skills in working with people, assigning tasks, and following up on the myriad details involved in representative government. These skills served her well when she ran for and was elected first to three terms in the Colorado House of Representatives and then three terms in the Colorado Senate.

     MaryAnne is someone who does her homework She learns everything she possibly can about the subjects in which she is involved. She reads and studies proposals, takes note of her constituents' concerns, and brings in experts in the field to get the facts on both sides of issues. She is willing to ask the tough questions and politely demand objective facts from the bureaucracy as well as interest groups.

     MaryAnne brings people together to work out problems. She is known to spend months working with opposing parties, reaching solutions that benefit all sides of the issue.

     MaryAnne has chaired very important committees. She is known for running meetings evenhandedly and being scrupulously fair in receiving testimony. She remains calm and neutral until the final person has spoken, then votes with discernment, after exhaustive study.

     As a representative of the people, MaryAnne Tebedo keeps her eye on the Constitution, and her objectives above politics.

     MaryAnne has been a Republican since 1958.
